While still playing at UW-River Falls, during the summers he also coached at the UW-River Falls kicking, punting, and long snapping camp as the long snapping coach. During this time he continued gaining skills and experience to train young athletes and helped them develop to their highest long snapping potential.
At the UW-River Falls kicking camp he worked along side professionals from such teams as the Baltimore Ravens, Seattle Seahawks, New England Patriots, Green Bay Packers, and Minnesota Vikings.
Stelter started Special Teams University because of his love for coaching.
After watching many high school and even college snappers struggle at their position, he realized every position on a team had a coach except the long snappers. At that point he made it his goal to help as many long snappers perfect their skill and make it to the next level, whether that is high school, college, semi-pro, or professional snappers.
Stelter studied at the University of Wisconsin River Falls and obtained a degree in physical education, health education, and adapted physical education. In April 2012, Kyle attended the prestigious Aguiar/Husted pro camp where he attained a 5 out of 5 star rating as afree agent long snapper.
In September 2012, Stelter was picked up by the Sacramento Mt Lions of the United Football League. During the preseason he beat out another long snapper who was previously with the New England Patriots for the starting role. After four games of perfect snapsthe league folded due to financial issues, however he attained great experience along with great game film that will help his chances of long snapping in the NFL.
In April 2014, Kyle attended the Husted Pro Camp again, this time in San Diego California. Kyle impressed the scouts again. Ranked as a 5 star long snapper he was rated the #2 five star long snapper in the nation (results here)
In May 2014 Kyle was invited to New York where he had a tryout with the New York Jets. Two weeks after his tryout he was brought back for Rookie Mini Camp with the New York Jets. Although he did very well he was not signed to a contract. Stelter is currently back in Wisconsin training and preparing to play at the professional level.
